2. Business sustainability
Seeking to deeply understand the wants and the needs of our end users we have performed intense ethnographic research across slums in various cities in India. Most sanitation programs have limited impact because they fail to realize that solving these issues is not just about providing toilets, it is also about user engagement and behavior change. Samagra Model incorporates behavior change into its DNA
we have stopped asking the question of why people don’t use toilets. Instead, we are focusing on why they should. Our emphasis has been on a bottom-up approach to knowing our audience and involving them to co-create solutions designed for their needs and wants. We are busy designing solutions that are practically feasible to implement and scale.
