Social Venture Partners (SVP) India
Social Venture Partners (SVP) is the world’s largest network of engaged philanthropic investors, with 32 city chapters in four countries and over 2,700 members. SVP’s venture philanthropy model seeks to catalyze significant, long-term positive social change in chapter cities through a two-pronged strategy of philanthropy development and capacity building. Through SVP, philanthropists build stronger nonprofit organizations and become more engaged citizens.
2. Business sustainability
SVP is funded through a combination of Partner contributions (donated on a yearly basis) and external foundations and partnerships. All new SVP chapters aim to be self-sustaining within 3-5 years.
The SVP model of venture philanthropy is a hybrid model of financial donations and engaged mentoring and capacity building assistance. Partners perform extensive due diligence on NGOs before carefully selecting organizations in which to invest, and then strengthen their financial investment by providing strategic, pro bono consulting to Investees in core organizational areas to build their capacities.
